The 8th HLF
In Times of the Coronavirus
We are experiencing an unprecedented situation with far-reaching consequences all over the world. Concerns about the Corona outbreak must be taken seriously. The health and safety of all HLF attendees, partners and employees is our utmost priority, and we are closely monitoring the development both here in Heidelberg and globally.
Pending further announcements from the German Government and the WHO, we are currently proceeding with the preparations to host the 8th HLF as planned. However, we will certainly avoid putting anybody at risk. In case we cannot meet safely at a physical 8th HLF, we will explore all options to find the best solution.
Be safe and stay healthy!
The 8th HLF will take place from September 20–25, 2020, a networking event where 200 young researchers in mathematics and computer science will spend a week interacting with the preeminent scientists in their fields. A balance of both science and social elements compose the program designed with ample time for the participants to exchange ideas and discuss. eHealth is the selected theme for the Hot Topic, to be dissected by a panel of experts (panelists pending).
The application period for young researchers ended February 14, 2020. We are also offering Travel Grants for journalists for the 8th HLF. The application phase for journalists runs from February 24 until May 4, 2020.
Updates such as participating laureates and other program elements will be made available as soon as they are confirmed (schedule subject to change).
